Millie Bobby Brown has deleted her Twitter account after ‘homophobic meme’ row

‘Stranger Things‘ star Millie Bobby Brown has dramatically deleted her Twitter account after becoming victim to a number of homophobic memes in recent days.

The 14-year-old was pretty active on the social media site until recently, when a number of memes depicting her as a violent homophobe were posted – some of which gained quite a bit of traction.

Although the memes were seen as a joke by Twitter users – who claim that the meme is an in-joke and meant to be taken in an ironic manner, particularly considering Brown’s support of LGBTQ+ rights in the past – it seems that the young actress did not take it as such and her account is now gone:

Her Instagram account is still in operation, although she hasn’t commented on the matter there – nor has her young boyfriend, YouTube star Jacob Sartorius.

The drama comes just a week after ‘The Last Jedi’ star Kellie Marie Tran was bullied off Twitter by trolls.
