ART HIGHLIGHTS

FEAR FACTORY — The Fear Factory, 666 W. 800 South in Salt Lake City, will open Friday and Saturday from 8 p.m. to midnight in honor of Friday the 13th. MOVIES AT THE SCERA — Wednesday: Disney/Pixar’s “Coco,” at the SCERA Shell. Thursday: “The Man Who Invented Christmas.” Monday-Wednesday and July 19: “I Can Only Imagine” at the Clarke Grand Theatre. UTAH FESTIVAL— The 26th anniversary season of the Utah Festival will continue with Mozart’s “The Barber of Seville,” “Into the Woods,” “Amazing Grace” and “The Secret Garden” at the Ellen Eccles Theatre in Logan and “You’re a Good Man Charlie Brown” in the 1924 Utah Theatre in Logan. The Festival will run through Aug. 4 and feature 154 events total including productions presented in repertory, concerts, lectures, breakfast with the stars, a silent film series and more. “MY SON PINOCCHIO” — The Hale Centre Theatre in Sandy will present Disney’s “My Son Pinocchio: Geppetto’s Musical Tale.” Performances run through Sept. 8 with shows Monday and Friday-Saturday evenings at 7:30 p.m. and Thursdays at 7:30 p.m. beginning Aug. 2. “NEWSIES” — The Hale Centre Theatre in Sandy will present the Broadway musical “Newsies,” based off the popular Disney film detailing the newsboys strike of 1899. LOCAL GALLERY HIGHLIGHTS

“A CELEBRATION OF LIGHT AND COLOR” — A new artist exhibit entitled “A Celebration of Light and Color” is scheduled to open at the Local Colors of Utah Art Gallery in Sugar House July 20 with an evening reception and run through Aug. 13. The gallery will feature the work of award-winning landscape artist Jim Woodward with more details at localcolorsart.com.

PETEETNEET GALLERY OPENING — This Friday the Peteetneet Gallery in Payson will host the Steve Parsons Photography exhibit opening reception from 6-8 p.m. Light refreshments will be served, and the artist will be available to meet with guests. The exhibit will be on display throughout the month.

“RECENT” — An exhibition titled “Recent” will be on display in the state-owned Alice Gallery in Salt Lake City from Friday through Sept. 7.
